Make a significant impact in the lives of students by providing dedicated nursing care in a school setting near Portland, ME. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses who are passionate about supporting the well-being of children and embracing the rewarding environment of education. You will serve as a 1:1 nurse for a student, stepping in while the current nurse is on maternity leave.

Initially, youll work part-time (1-2 days/week) during the current and extended school year, transitioning to a full-time schedule at the start of the next school year. With one primary school location, you can focus on building consistent, meaningful connections without juggling multiple sites.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in Maine (or eligibility for reciprocity)
  • Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
  • Ability to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to students

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering 1:1 nursing care and support during school hours
  • Implementing and monitoring health care plans with a focus on student safety
  • Administering medication, monitoring health status, and responding to emergencies
  • Maintaining accurate health records and collaboration with educators and families
  • Acting as a health advocate and resource for staff, students, and families
  • Providing condition-specific care and ensuring compliance with educational health regulations
