Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care and clinic operations
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatment procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and record vital signs accurately
  • Administer injections and perform laboratory testing and phlebotomy duties
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, medical equipment, and inventory
  • Schedule appointments, manage charts, and complete prior authorizations
  • Provide education and information to clients regarding clinic services and care needs
  • Communicate lab results and medical concerns to providers and nursing staff
  • Support coordination of medical appointments, hospital visits, and discharge planning
  • Visit residential locations as assigned to complete medical reviews and support care coordination
  • Monitor and maintain durable medical equipment and clinic logs
  • Complete documentation timely and accurately according to company policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding and HIPAA protocols
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and additional duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in applicable state required
  • One year of experience in a physician office or clinical setting preferred
  • Previous phlebotomy and laboratory experience preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Required License/Certification (one of the following):

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in applicable state preferred
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required

For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire For positions designated as float positions, travel to or between clinics is required Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Electronic medical record experience. One-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers. Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty.
