As a school nurse, your reliable presence Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 2:30pm, ensures students receive the care and attention they need to thrive throughout the school day.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Maine
  • Experience working as a school nurse or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Strong assessment, triage, and health education skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records and uphold privacy regulations (FERPA, HIPAA)
  • Compassionate communicator able to collaborate with students, families, educators, and staff
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to respond quickly in emergent situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care for illness, injuries, and chronic conditions during school hours
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with healthcare plans
  • Monitor and manage students with allergies, asthma, diabetes, and other medical needs
  • Maintain comprehensive health records and documentation
  • Partner with faculty and administration to create a safe, healthy learning environment
  • Offer health education and resource guidance to students and families
  • Collaborate with outside healthcare providers as needed for continuity of care
