Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not mandatory
  • Confident clinical judgment and strong assessment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Calm, professional demeanor, especially in high-pressure or emergent situations
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students during school hours, including administering medication and managing chronic health conditions
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist with injury or illness assessment and documentation
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote health and safety throughout the school environment
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date health records, adhering to all confidentiality regulations
  • Educate students on health practices and hygiene as appropriate
