OBG Hospitalist Certified Nurse Midwife

Position Status: Full-Time & Part-Time

Upstate Community Medical, PC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Nurse- Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) to join our growing OBG Hospitalist team.  Our OBG Hospitalist team, comprised of physicians and CNM’s, is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, and are looking for a CNM/CM who is passionate about supporting women’s health and delivering exceptional care in the hospital setting at Upstate Community Hospital. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive obstetrical care for patients in the hospital setting, including labor and delivery and postpartum.  
  • Collaborate with OBG physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  •  Attend deliveries, including vaginal births and cesarean sections as a first assistant, as needed.
  • Conduct routine and emergency assessments, including physical exams, diagnostic tests, and patient history.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with UCM and UUH policies and procedures.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with best practices in obstetrical  care.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or Midwife (CM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Valid NYS RN and CNM license for CNMs or a CM license
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience preferred in a hospital setting, with a focus on labor and delivery.
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPIC.
  • Additional certifications or training in fetal monitoring and cesarean first assist is preferred.
