RESPONSIBLITIES FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING ARE:

  • Develops and implements clinical systems that ensure consistent delivery of quality resident care and services.

  • Organizes, plans, and directs department functions and activities to comply with long and short term objectives.

  • Consistently evaluates the department policies and procedures for compliance with current rules and regulations

  • Monitors Quality Indicators, identifies trends, and develops action plans.

  • Interprets regulatory requirements and monitors documentation for compliance.

  • Maintains compliance with nursing care standards, policies, procedures and regulatory agency requirements. 

  • Manages and analyzes the staffing patterns to ensure that all nursing units are staffed accordingly.

  • Establishes positive employee relations programs and practices.

  • Serves as a role model and mentor for the entire nursing team,

  • Uses effective communication skills by providing timely feedback to all personnel.

 QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING POSITION:

  • Must possess a current Registered Nurse license, preferably licensedin the state of PA

  • Three years of supervisory and/or DIRECTOR OF NURSING experience preferred.

  • Must have the ability to lead and develop all nursing personnel

  • Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local long term care regulations a must.
