Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU / Surgical Services
Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The PACU RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures and anesthesia while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence throughout the recovery process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Provide post-operative nursing care, pain management, and patient education
- Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
- Assist with patient discharge planning and education
Qualifications:
- Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS preferred or required within designated timeframe
- Previous PACU, Critical Care, ER, or Surgical Services experience preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining compassionate patient care
Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Day shift with rotating call requirements
