Position Overview:

The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for directing the operation of a nursing unit in a long-term community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating care team members.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues/concerns for the unit.
  • Manage area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education of nursing staff members.
  • Contact physicians as needed/necessary and ensure physician interventions are timely and appropriate.
  • Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units and reassign personnel when necessary to ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.
  • Monitor the clinical operations of the unit and resident’s conditions and ensure that appropriate and quality care is administered.
  • Obtain medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic are to residents on a continuing basis.
  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitoring their skills and guides and observe care team members that may need assistance with procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed as an LPN or RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
  • Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold an active CPR license or the ability to obtain within the first 30-days of employment. CPR license must be kept active and current throughout employment.
  • Three years of nursing experience, of which one year in a long-term care environment.

Resource Pool RN - Main ICU - Full Time - Nights

Job Description This Resource Float Pool RN will support our ICU service lines. Candidates should have experience caring for critically ill patients and be comfortable floating between multiple ICU environments. Resource Float Pool RNs may also be asked to support other areas throughout the hospital based on patient care and staffing needs. The Christ Hospital has three ICU specialties at our main Auburn Avenue campus, each offering unique patient populations and experiences: CVICU (28 beds): Focuses on high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including open heart surgery, heart transplants, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, Impellas, and advanced heart failure patients. SICU (14 beds): Cares for a diverse surgical population including neurology, neurosurgery, vascular, transplant, general surgery, and OB/GYN surgical patients. MICU (20 beds): Provides care for critically ill medical patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleeds, heart failure, renal failure, and multi-organ dysfunction. All three ICUs emphasize teamwork, evidence-based practice, advanced critical care skills, exceptional patient outcomes, and strong interdisciplinary support. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Attendance Follows the time and attendance policy; reports to work on time, maintains a good attendance record, has badge and uses it to clock in and out, makes requests for tie off as far in advance as possible, etc. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL: EDUCATION: • TCH does hire AD and Diploma nurses; however all nurses hired after January 2010 must receive their BSN within 5 years of the date of hire. RN's who were employed at TCH prior to January 2010, and have more than 20 years of experience as an RN are permitted to pursue their BSN on a voluntary basis. A MSN or DNP are not required but supersede the requirement for the BSN. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: None required REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: The RN demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education. The RN effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains absolute confidentiality. VAD Program Coordinator-RN - Main Advanced Heart Failure - Full Time - Days

Job Description Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Patient Coordinator is a clinical expert registered nurse who applies clinical expertise in evidence-based practice. Applies concepts derived from management and communication theory, group dynamics and clinical judgment to implement the VAD program. Integrates care with multidisciplinary team (within the hospital, practice and in the community) to facilitate VAD patient care from pre implant thru discharge of care. Clinical Expert/Consultant : Demonstrates or supports implementations of nursing process for VAD/HF patients. Recognized advisor sought out for clinical expertise related to VAD/HF. Responsibilities Educator : Evaluates competency of clinical staff (inside and outside of the hospital), patients, family members, physicians, and community health resources related to the care of patients with VAD's. Researcher : Functions as Study Coordinator or Co-Investigator for national investigational studies related to VAD and HF conducted at TCH. Utilizes and communicates applicable research to improve practice. Case Manager : Functions as case manager for all VAD patients from time of referral to implant through discharge with ongoing case management thereafter. VAD Patient Care Manager : Manages equipment, supplies, policies and procedures related to the VAD Program as assigned. Customer Satisfaction : Actively promotes improved relationships between patients, nursing staff, internal and external customers resulting in improved customer satisfaction. Leader : Demonstrates professional contribution to and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and Program Manager. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Coordinate list for implantation and changes of status, including forms completion and computer entry. Coordinate readmissions for patients having difficulties that require inpatient management. Develop and integrate new matrices and their implementation into existing practices for the PV Program and develop Policies and Procedure with the medical director oversight.
