Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurology team in Wilmington, DE!

The Pediatric Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides independent and collaborative care within the Division of Neurology with management of children with complex neurological conditions, including medically refractory epilepsy, chronic headaches, and tic disorders, from initial evaluation through long-term follow-up.

This role is integral to the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and outpatient subspecialty clinics, where the APP oversees diagnostic monitoring, optimizes pharmacological treatments—including specialized migraine and movement disorder protocols—and provides continuity of care for families managing chronic neurological health.

Additional Responsibilities

Headache Management: Conducting comprehensive assessments for primary and secondary headaches, performing nerve blocks or trigger point injections if required, and developing preventative and acute "rescue" treatment plans.
Tic & Movement Disorders: Evaluating motor and vocal tics, managing comorbidities associated with Tourette’s, and coordinating behavioral therapy referrals (such as Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics).
Seizure Care: Leading medical management in the EMU and adjusting anti-epileptic medications to balance seizure control with quality of life

This role is ideal for someone interested in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the reconstructive surgery continuum, from initial consultation and surgical planning through postoperative recovery and long-term follow-up. The APP will work closely with dedicated plastic and reconstructive surgeons and a multidisciplinary team, including fellow APPs, to care for patients undergoing a broad range of reconstructive procedures. The position includes a mix of outpatient clinic care and active first assisting in the operating room in both shared and independent settings. This role provides exposure to complex reconstructive surgery and opportunities for clinical growth, leadership development, and participation in academic and quality initiatives. Areas of Clinical Focus Breast reconstruction including implant-based and autologous reconstruction Microsurgery and free flap reconstruction Oncoplastic breast surgery Lymphedema evaluation and treatment Chest wall and soft tissue reconstruction Complex wound management and reconstruction General reconstructive surgery Cosmetic and body contouring procedures (limited exposure) Job Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To) Conduct outpatient clinic visits independently and alongside faculty, including new patient consultations, pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and long-term reconstructive care Support perioperative care including surgical planning, coordination of care, and postoperative management Actively first assist in the operating room across a broad range of plastic and reconstructive procedures Review and interpret imaging, pathology, and laboratory results to guide patient care decisions Perform office-based procedures including tissue expansion, drain management, seroma aspirations, wound care, and suture/staple removal Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, rehabilitation services, and nursing teams Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations Participate in multidisciplinary discussions, quality improvement initiatives, education, research, and professional development opportunities Schedule & Benefits Monday through Friday schedule with no call or weekend responsibilities Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for continuing education, leadership development, clinical growth, research participation, quality improvement initiatives, and academic involvement Preferred Qualifications Previous surgical, reconstructive, oncology, or plastic surgery experience preferred but not required Strong surgical assisting skills and interest in operative care Ability to function effectively in both clinic and operative environments Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care Interest in professional growth, leadership development, and continuous learning Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Masters OR Doctorate degree : Nursing (MSN or DNP) Licenses and Certifications MPA-LIC - PA Medical Physician Asst Lic NCCPA - Certified Physician Assistant OR CRNP - PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License
