The Senior Director will work collaboratively with physician leadership, operational teams, and community partners to strengthen care delivery, enhance patient access, and maintain excellence as an NCQA-recognized Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH).
Position Summary
The Senior Director is a contributor to the Primary Care Service Line Operations within the organization. The Senior Director oversees administrative, fiscal and clinical operations; ensures program quality, customer and physician satisfaction; directs program marketing and business development, community outreach, fund raising and financial/strategic planning.
In conjunction with the Chair, COO, and other leaders, this position will work closely with the Department of Community Family Medicine to develop processes and enhance scheduling within all primary care sites.
The Senior Director collaborates extensively with Family Medicine and Pediatric physician groups and clinics, as well as directors and staff across laboratory services, subspecialty services, Emergency Department services, ancillary services, business development, marketing, and information technology.
This position assures continued compliance as a center recognized by NCQA for a Primary Care Medical Home and performs additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Department of Community and Family Medicine Clinics, ensuring excellence across clinical operations, patient care, customer access, satisfaction, performance improvement, environment of care, and infection control.
  • Developing and managing the annual departmental operating budget while identifying opportunities to improve services, optimize resources, and minimize expenditures.
  • Serving as Co-Chairperson of the Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) Steering Committee for Lakewood, as assigned, and participating in multidisciplinary committees and task forces.
  • Driving initiatives that improve quality outcomes and enhance the patient experience across Primary Care Services.
  • Establishing competencies, professional qualifications, and clinical performance standards for Primary Care Services staff.
  • Partnering with Business Development and Marketing teams to support strategic growth initiatives, market development plans, and community outreach efforts.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with governmental regulations, accreditation standards, quality reporting requirements, and NCQA Primary Care Medical Home standards.
  • Building strong relationships with community agencies, referral networks, and healthcare partners to strengthen access and continuity of care.
  • Collaborating with Department leadership to improve scheduling, provider coverage, operational communication, and workflow efficiency across primary care sites.
  • Participating in managed care negotiations alongside the Director of Managed Care for regional MCO, PPO, and HMO contracts related to primary care services.
  • Maintaining accountability for staff licensure, certifications, registries, and Primary Source Verification (PSV) compliance.
  • Promoting a culture of quality improvement, patient and staff safety, teamwork, inclusion, and cultural diversity throughout department operations.
  • Delivering a professional, courteous, and service-oriented experience in every interaction with patients, visitors, providers, and colleagues.
  • Supporting and upholding the organization’s Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Plan, and all applicable policies, procedures, and training requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a graduate degree in Nursing required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri required.
  • Master's degree in health administration, preferred
Experience
  • Five to seven years of experience at a manager or director level required.
  • Practical experience with:
    • Budgeting
    • Strategic planning
    • Marketing plan development and implementation
    • Fundraising
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret managed care contracts, business plans, marketing plans, financial documents, safety documents, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach, twist, bend, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, stoop, stand, climb, balance, kneel, grasp, and perform fine hand coordination and digital dexterity.
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds repetitively to move/transport equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to distinguish colors in computer programs, hear sufficiently for conversations and workplace sounds, and read medical records and computer screens.
