Certified Nurse Midwife - Per Diem

Join our large team of 12 Certified Nurse Midwives providing obstetric and gynecologic care in 5 outpatient clinic locations in Madison. Our midwives see patients and families throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period, and also provide full-scope GYN care including contraceptive care, STI treatment, abnormal uterine bleeding, and preventative GYN care.

Work Schedule: 
Schedule will vary depending on needs of the division. Our per diem midwife on average may work approximately 1-5 shifts per month, all in the outpatient setting. The typical clinic day runs from approximately 8:00am to 5:00pm.

  • Provide clinic coverage on an as needed basis. 


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nurse Midwifery Required
Work Experience
  • One to two (1-2) years of midwifery experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin Required
  • Active Nurse Midwife license in State of Wisconsin Required
  • Active national board certification in nurse midwifery Required
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for license prior to or upon hire Required

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Provides inpatient and outpatient obstetrical care throughout the entire pregnancy to include collaborative management and delivery of laboring patients, and OB emergency care Provides gynecologic care to include wellness screening, performance of comprehensive health assessments, and the performance of in-office procedures to include placement of IUDs, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy Arranges inpatient admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with established guidelines and standards developed within the collaborative practice. Performs inpatient rounds and records appropriate notes, compiles detailed narrative and case summaries and complete forms pertinent to patients’ medical records Provides pregnancy care by managing low risk pregnancies and identify and participate in collaborative care of high-risk pregnancies.
