Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED Experience
6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients

Responsible and accountable for performing a wide range of clerical duties and direct patient care activities, depending on the need of the unit. The performance of these tasks in an efficient and timely manner is essential to enhance the care team's ability to provide quality care. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned clinical area. Provides patient care as directed by the licensed nurse, within the nursing assistant scope of practice, in meeting the multidisciplinary care plan established for each patient. Identifies, observes and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards. Reports changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner. Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order.
