CNA Duties & Responsibilities:

  •       Provide daily routine care, including bathing, dressing, and serving meals

  •       Feed residents as necessary

  •       Provide safe transfers

  •       Assist with maintaining a clean and healthy environment

  •       Document clinical actions by completing forms, reports, and logs

CNA Qualifications & Requirements:

  •       Certified Nursing Assistant- CNA License valid in the State of New York

Sign on Bonus up to $5,000 Summary Under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performs various duties assisting in the care and treatment of patients/residents in accordance with established policies and procedures. Understands and adheres to GCMC’s Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and GCMC regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they are changed or modified. Experience - Experience working with the elderly population preferred. - Must be listed in good standing on the New York State Nurse Aide Registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant with no findings of abuse, mistreatment, neglect or misappropriation of property/funds. Education High School graduate or GED preferred Essential Functions 1. Performs routine patient/resident care duties under the direction of the Registered nurse or LPN. 1. Assists with direct care of the patient/resident (dressing, grooming, ambulating, toileting, transferring). 2. Prepares and assists with meals and distributes water and other nourishments according to the needs of the patient/resident. 3. Measures vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure and reports them to the nurse. 4. Provides routine am/pm care and assists with routine skin care. 5. Assists with I & O’s, empties and measures patient’s drainage containers and documents I & O appropriately. 6. Collects specimens, labels properly, transports to proper area in a timely manner following established procedures. 7. Participates in shift report communicating information to oncoming staff. 8. Makes round willingly and promptly responds to call lights. 9. Participates in clinical learning experiences for orientees and students. 2. Assists with transportation activities related to patient/resident care. 1. Escorts patients/residents to ancillary departments. 2. Escorts discharged patients/residents in a safe and efficient manner. 3. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to safely and effectively use equipment. 3. Emergency Preparedness-Demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of emergency preparedness plans and operations. 1. Aware of and actively participates in emergency preparedness procedures and operations. 2. Aware of and actively participates in Code Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Green, and Silver drills and actual events. 4. Documentation-Completely and accurately documents patient/resident care activities and response in a timely manner in accordance with facility policy. 1. Documents on a regular, real time basis all patient/resident care activities in accordance to policy. 2. Infection Control-Provide safe and effective patient/resident care in accordance with hospital Infection Control policy and procedures. 3. Wears appropriate PPE as warranted. 4.
