Summary

SUMMARY

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for meeting patient's priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and /or delegating care and evaluating patients' responses and progress toward clinical outcomes. The Staff RN contributes to an efficient and effective work environment through activities including professional communication and documentation, preceptoring and/or resourcing of others.

The Staff RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and/or other support staff in the delivery of patient care as described in Nebraska Statute 38.

*Documents patient care and related information according to Bryan Medical Center procedures for documentation.

*Provides care in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

*Facilitates patient's transition to the next level of care.

*Actively participates in continued learning opportunities and continued self-development pertinent to the work unit and duties of the job. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

MDS Coordinator Job Title : MDS Coordinator Department: Nursing Reports to: DON Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary: Responsible for completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy and procedures. Acts as in-house case manager by considering all aspects of the resident’s care and coordinating services with physicians, families, third party payers and facility staff. Summary GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for facilitating access to Medical Center services. Utilizes effective communication and documentation with physicians, physician staff, health care facilities, patients and patient representatives to collect and analyze pertinent clinical data as related to the procedure(s) scheduled, intervening to prevent problems that could result in adverse patient outcomes or delayed/cancelled procedures. Provides recommendations and education to physician office staff commensurate with scope of practice in scheduling of procedure(s). *Reviews and evaluates outpatient orders received from the physician and/or physician staff; uses clinical judgment /critical thinking to follow-up on appropriateness and completeness of physician orders as they relate to procedure(s) ordered. *Receives and documents verbal physician orders. Screens/determines appropriateness of level of care and admission status; notifies appropriate department(s) based on assessment of patient needs. Enters order sets for procedures while coordinating with physician offices and performing departments. Reviews for accuracy to ensure all orders needed are entered and available. Documents pre-certification/authorization/referral information when applicable. *Prepares and provides patients with an estimate, if one is warranted, for their expected services.
