Overview

We are seeking an Employee Health - Nurse Coordinator to join our team! This role is part of the Team Member Health & Safety team and is responsible for assessing and promoting the health and safety of the organization’s healthcare personnel. This involves prevention, recognition, and treatment of illness and injury. We are looking for applicants that have skills and expertise in communicable disease investigation and follow-up, environmental health, physical assessment, rehabilitation, and human relations.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Location: Onsite - Quad Cities (Moline, IL)

Responsibilities

Program Management / Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintains compliance with applicable OSHA, DIA, CMS programs
  • Coordinates projects and programs to improve the health and safety of team members such as Respiratory Protection, Bloodborne Pathogens, Safe Patient Handling.
  • Gathers statistics and analyzes trends; makes recommendations so that appropriate decisions can be made in collaboration with human resources and department managers
  • Keeps and maintains all records in accordance with OSHA regulations, state workers’ compensation code and Americans with Disability Act (ADA).
  • Responsible for the appropriate exchange of information between Team Member Health & Safety, leaders and team members.

Clinical Excellence / Patient Care:

  • Maintains compliance with administration and documentation of applicable healthcare worker required screenings, immunizations, in accordance with UPH policy and governing agencies.
  • Conducts pre-employment evaluations and various screenings per provider protocol
  • Conducts respiratory protection evaluations per provider protocol
  • Completes assessments on impairment of team members
  • Assesses the needs of team members and volunteers, providing appropriate teaching and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
  • Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required in Team Member Health & Safety in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients and families served in the assigned service area.
  • Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in developing nursing interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.

Injury / Illness Management:

  • Treats team member and volunteer on-the-job injuries, illnesses and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Manages testing, treatment and follow up, for all team member exposures to communicable disease in accordance with applicable regulatory agency for internal and contracted external customers.
  • Manages testing, treatment and follow up, for all team member bloodborne pathogen exposures in accordance with OSHA regulations for internal and contracted external customers.
  • Manages testing, initial treatment and ensures proper hand off for contracted staff bloodborne pathogen exposures occurring at a UnityPoint Health facility in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Follows up on work related injuries/incidents to ensure practices are in place to prevent reoccurrence from happening.
  • Provides guidance to team members regarding safe return to work timing for personal communicable diseases

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience:

  • 5 years as an RN or 2 years as an RN and 3+ years or project management or leadership experience required

Licenses:

  • Currently licensed as an RN in both Iowa and Illinois required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certification in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) preferred

Allure HCS is looking for an Regional MDS Consultant (RN) to oversite all 15 facilities for the Quad City Area. Facilities: Allure of Galesburg, Allure of Geneseo, Allure of Knox County, Allure of Lake Storey, Allure of Mendota, Allure of Moline, Allure of Mt Carroll, Allure of Peru, Allure of Pinecrest , Allure of Prophetstown, Allure of Quad Cities, Allure of Sterling, Allure of Stockton, Allure of Walnut, Allure of Zion The Regional MDS Consultant (RN) is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents to assure appropriate reimbursement for care and services provided within the Facilities. This role will integrate nursing, dietary, social recreation, restorative, rehabilitation, and physician services to ensure appropriate assessment and reimbursement.
