Job Summary

Responsible for providing ancillary non-clinical supportive services to residents in coordination with the nursing team and resident care plans while certification is pending. Supports the nursing team by assisting with resident needs and maintaining a homelike environment. Promotes and protects resident rights throughout service delivery. Ensures all hands-on care is performed by licensed nursing staff. Contributes to resident comfort and well-being during training period.

Essential Functions

• Provides non-clinical supportive care to residents by addressing non-clinical needs, responding to call lights, and notifying nursing staff of clinical concerns.

• Educates residents and families about meal times, activities, and customer service-related information.

• Removes soiled linens, cleans and sanitizes mattresses, makes beds, and ensures proper handling and disposal of linens.

• Assists with collecting meal trays and water pitchers, transporting them to the kitchen, and replacing water pitchers as directed.

• Cleans and disinfects resident equipment such as shower chairs, wheelchairs, and walkers, and promptly reports defective equipment to the charge nurse.

• Transports residents via wheelchair to activities, beauty shop, or front entrance for discharge, and provides one-on-one interaction and observation as delegated.

• Answers and transfers telephone calls professionally and interacts courteously with residents, families, and coworkers.

• Follows directions from nursing supervisors and charge nurses, completing delegated tasks promptly and courteously.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience Requirement

0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
