Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care within OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinics. The APP will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses in patients of all ages. This position plays a key role in ensuring a consistent, patient-centered experience across multiple clinic locations.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients presenting with urgent and non-emergent conditions.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications as indicated.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely medical records for all patient encounters.
  • Ensure the consistency, quality, and safety of all clinical services provided within OSF OnCall Urgent Care.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
  • Deliver a personalized, patient-centric experience consistent with OSF HealthCare’s Mission and Values.
  • Float to various OSF OnCall Urgent Care locations as needed to support staffing and patient access.

Qualifications 

  • Education: Master’s degree.
  • Current and valid Physician Assistant License or Advanced Practice Nurse License in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages and needs of the patient population served.
  • Flexibility to work at multiple clinic locations as needed.
  • Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in an urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care setting is preferred but new graduates are eligible as well.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master’s degree Licensure/ Certification: IL Advanced Prac Nurse, IL Registered Nurse License, BLS Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Experience as an APN
