An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to support a bustling high school environment in the Chicago area. This position involves working closely with medically fragile students, collaborating within a dedicated nursing team, and playing a key role in ensuring the well-being of the school community.

Key Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois is required.
Prior experience in a school setting is strongly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to respond to crises and provide emergency medical care.
Skilled in medical procedures such as g-tube feedings.
Experience caring for medically fragile students, with sensitivity and professionalism.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver daily nursing care to up to 13 students, with six currently requiring ongoing support.
Monitor students’ medical needs, administer medications, and perform specialized health procedures as necessary.
Collaborate with a team of nursing professionals and educational staff to support student care.
Provide emergency and crisis medical interventions as needed throughout the school day.
Educate and oversee students, families, and staff on health plans and best practices for safety and care.
Maintain accurate, confidential health records in accordance with school and state guidelines.

Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:45 pm, including a lunch break, on a contract basis aligned with the school year. The role is supported by additional nursing staff, ensuring collaborative coverage and reasonable caseload management.
