Requirements:

  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation License (Registered Nurse)
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) for School Nurse in Illinois
  • Certified School Nurse (CSN) qualifications
  • Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee campus-level compliance with health procedures
  • Conduct monthly file reviews to ensure accurate, up-to-date doctor’s orders for medication administration
  • Audit administered medications to confirm correct dosage and presence of inventory
  • Ensure all seizure, allergy, and asthma action plans are current and medications are non-expired
  • Serve as a resource for school staff on student health care standards
