  • Supports positive relations between patients, families, clinical team, ambulatory services, and staff by promoting a patient-centric culture across the UTSW continuum of care.
  • Creates innovative methods for enhancing the UTSW patient experience through recommending improvements, which incorporates the needs of all patient populations.
  • Serves as a hospital liaison to the Patient Assistance Office (PAO), Risk Management, and Patient Liaison Services (PLS).
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with and advocate for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Assists with planning and facilitating patient admissions and rounding on patients as assigned.
  • Leads by example, role-modeling expected customer service behaviors and practices.
  • Accesses patient medical records for review and investigational purposes.

About the Role The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for managing all aspects of nursing responsibility during each shift, from processing patients in and out to delegating nursing assignments and monitoring medication administration. POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the nursing care for all patients in the In-Patient Unit during your shift. Recognize changes in patients’ condition and respond appropriately. Supervise CNAs as they complete their assigned tasks and point out any changes or improvements that need to be made.
