School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Washingtonville, New York

In this role, you will accompany students on their bus routes, ensuring their safety and well-being while traveling to and from school. The position runs from July 6, 2026, through August 14, 2026. Your schedule will include Mondays and Tuesdays, riding the bus from 6:30 am to 8:16 am, with a break before returning for the afternoon ride from 1:20 pm to 3:20 pm. All rides begin and end at the designated meeting point at Orange County Transit, 299 Crystal Run Road, Middletown, NY.

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted NY State LPN or RN license
• Previous experience as an LPN, LVN, or RN within a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong clinical skills, especially in seizure response and Diastat administration
• Excellent communication and observation abilities
• A calm, reassuring presence, with the capacity to respond quickly in emergency situations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor students’ health and safety during transit
• Administer Diastat and provide ongoing seizure surveillance
• Act as the first responder for any medical concerns that arise on the bus
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and incidents
• Collaborate professionally with transportation staff and families as needed
