Responsibilities for the Floating Director of Nursing:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive staffing plan that reflects the department's clinical needs and supports safe, high-quality resident care.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the quality of nursing care delivered throughout the facility.
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with residents, family members, staff, and the interdisciplinary medical team.
- Partner closely with the Administrator to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that aligns with organizational goals and resident needs.
- Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures in accordance with current federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff to promote professional growth, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
- Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to ensure continuous enhancement of nursing services.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and clinical standards governing nursing care facilities.
Qualifications for the Floating Director of Nursing:
- Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, nursing care center, or other related healthcare setting required.
- Experience in supervision, leadership, and staff development required.
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and external agencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and standards applicable to long-term care settings.
- Must be willing to travel to assigned facilities.
