POSITION TITLE:
Activities Aide
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Activities. Responsible for completion of functions of the Activities Department and responsible for the overall execution of activities within the facility.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Including but not limited to)
- Implement and complete activities programs for Residents; focus on individual preferences
- Work directly with residents on units; without direct supervision
- Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested
- Assist activities director & set up program areas as needed
- Keep daily attendance and document resident participation in activities
- Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A positive attitude and energy are a must
- CNA license is encouraged but not required
- Strong computer skills are required
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Evening, weekend and holiday availability is required
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred
- Experience with activities in a healthcare setting is preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Personal Skills and Traits Desired):
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Evidence of effective problem resolution skills.
- Demonstrates ability to establish and manage priorities.
- Resourceful, organized and efficient.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
