JOB TASKS And RESPONSIBILITIES
- 24/7 accountability for the delivery of nursing care
- Adoption of innovative nursing practices based on evidence
- Effective two-way communication and problem solving at the unit and organizational level
- Recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of nursing staff
- Ensure nursing staff compliance with the following;
- Professional development
- Adherence to nursing standards of practice
- Regulatory standards
- ANA Code of Ethics
- Peer reviews
- Organizational and unit policies
- Mandatory education
- Infection control practice
- Scheduling processes and procedures
- I CARE standards of behavior
- Budget development, utilization, evaluation, and adjustment
- Maintenance of a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of ΓÇ£just cultureΓÇ¥ which neither holds the nurse accountable for system failures nor tolerates reckless behavior
- Evaluates clinical nurses
- Mentors the Associate Nurse Manager, charge nurses, and clinical nurses
- Implement changes in nursing practice and/or patient care through the shared governance structure
- Patient and employee rounding
Education/Training/Experience
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years related nursing experience
- Minimum 3 years progressive nurse leadership experience
- Master of Science in Nursing
- Possesses current state RN license.
- Maintain current BLS
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
- National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)
- ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
- Preferred: Related Nursing Specialty Certification
- EXEMPT
