The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a full-time ARNP or PA at the rank of Teaching Associate. The Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) will be deployed at UWMC and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake (UWMC-ML) and will provide hematologic/oncologic related evaluation and medical management of patients within the Platinum Service.
The Platinum Inpatient ARNP/PA-C Is a Nurse Practitioner Or Certified Physician Assistant Who Provides Evaluation And Medical Management To Inpatient Medical Oncology And Hematology Patients At The University Of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). The ARNP/PA-C
This position requires some weekend and holiday coverage.
The anticipated start date is November 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
The base salary range for this position will be: $10,917 - $16,788 per month ($131,000 - $201,456 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

- Provides care to patients admitted to the hospital for cancer-directed therapy, acute illness, and complications related to therapy, underlying disease, and concurrent illness.
- Performs clinical assessment and management of medical needs, performs procedures, participates in goals-of-care discussions, and consults with professional peers working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
- All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.
This position requires some weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities
- Works as part of an interdisciplinary team on the inpatient units at UWMC working 12 hour rotating day shifts to cover 7 days per week.
- Performs complex and problem-focused H&P’s; rounds daily with team and attending physician.
- Evaluates and manages all aspects of care for medical oncology and hematology inpatients.
- Performs procedures including bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice.
- Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services.
- Communicates changes in patient status, care needs, and urgent issues to the outpatient primary oncology team, and facilitates seamless transitions from inpatient to outpatient care.
- Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees.
- Actively participates in clinical aspects of research trials.
- Documents patient care data in accordance with the UWP policies.
- Other duties as assigned to meet dynamic inpatient UWMC needs

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required.
- Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- One year of ARNP or PA-C experience strongly preferred.
- Hematology, Oncology, or Inpatient experience strongly preferred.
- Washington state & DEA licensure required at time of credentialing
- ACLS within three months of hire date
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- Electronic Medical Record experience
