Monitor compliance with immunization requirements; complete required immunization reports, interpret immunization requirements and rationale to staff, students, and parents; assist parents in complying with District immunization requirements. 5. Provide counseling and assistance to parents and staff for referral and placement to appropriate program and services regarding health related issues. 6. Serve as a health education and staff development consultant to classroom teachers and parents. 7. Assist in the implementation of the District health curriculum, particularly in the areas of drug, alcohol and tobacco use prevention education, family life education, AIDS education and control of communicable diseases. 8. Teach, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Specialized Physical Health Care Service (SPHCS) procedures provided to identified students. 9. Consult with physicians on Specialized Physical Health Care Service and other issues related to the necessary provisions of health services in the school. 10. Provide professional supervision of health aides at assigned work sites. 11. Provide Designated Instructional Services (DIS) to special education students as specified on their Individual Education Plan (IEP). 12. Perform other duties as assigned.
