Job Description

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
  • Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  • Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  • Records patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification.
  • Valid and unrestricted Driver’s license with a clean driving record required


Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
  • 1+ year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.

Duties Description The Bureau of Nursing and Health Services (BNHS) in the Division of Statewide Services lends support to provider agencies across New York State. This position is in the Bureau of Nursing and Health Services in the Division of Statewide Services. The RN 2 will work under the supervision of the RN 3 Consultant Developmental Disabilities and will be responsible for: Identify and use statewide and provider specific reportable data to identify trends in quality nursing and health care and outcomes. Develop tracking systems using available data sources to prioritize the Bureau's areas/topics of support to voluntary providers. In collaboration with the Division of Quality Improvement (DQI), track and trend voluntary provider health-related critical and significant events (CSEs) to identify trends in substandard care/performance to inform the development of educational supports with the goal of preventing recurrence.
