The Avenue at Macedonia is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest standards of resident care. The DON is responsible for the overall clinical operations of the nursing department, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and the development of exceptional care programs that support resident well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all nursing department operations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.

• Assess resident needs and ensure individualized care plans are developed and followed.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.

• Conduct routine rounds, evaluate quality of care, and implement corrective actions when needed.

• Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.

• Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff to promote professional growth and retention.

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, department leaders, residents, and families.

• Oversee nursing department budgets, supplies, and resource allocation.

• Lead staff education, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Foster a positive work environment focused on resident satisfaction and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Current and unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically active environment.

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as required.

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Previous Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or nurse leadership experience.

• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings.

• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care regulations.
