Job Description:

Wage Info: $24.149 to $31.224/hr (Breakdown: $21.149-$28.224 base + $3.00 differential for every hour worked) PLUS shift differential of $1 - $1.75/hour!

Full Time & Part Time Available
Shifts: Days/Evenings/Nights, depending on current vacancies.
Days: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Evenings: 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Overnights: 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Provide quality care for each member to maintain quality of life. Maintain dignity and confidentiality of members. Perform routine nursing duties in the general care of elderly members in the Veterans Home. Prepare, administer and document oral and topical medications and treatments.

Under general supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, provides basic nursing care, administers medications, and applies treatments for Veteran's Home members within the scope of the Nebraska Medication Aide Act, State of Nebraska Nursing Assistant regulations, and Veteran's Affairs regulations.


 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age, completed a state approved 76 hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.

Other: Must successfully complete the Medication Aide course and be listed on the Medication Aide registry within first year of employment.


 

Knowledge Of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; Nebraska Medication Aide Act, medication administration and adverse medication reactions; regulations governing nursing assistants; practices and principles of providing basic nursing assistance; infection control practices; HIPAA regulations; abuse and neglect identification and prevention; safety principles; privacy and dignity principles

Skill In: Providing basic nursing assistance, administering medications

Ability To: lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull occasionally up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis. Ability to frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist and walk or stand up to 90% of the shift. Must be flexible to meeting changing demands of the job; lift, turn and/or reposition members as needed. Ability to interact with members and others in a positive manner and be flexible to meet changing demands of the job.
