Salary Schedule for the position is as follows:
$113,147 - $122,138 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18, Geographic Differential ($35,000), and Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($2,000).
Employees hired for this shift (2 pm – 10 pm) will qualify for a shift differential (+7%) and inconvenience pay (+$575).
NY HELPS
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
It is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including comprehensive nursing assessments, administering medications, implementing physician’s treatment orders, transcribing orders, and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis or culture.
- Provide health education to residents, their guardians and staff and participate in interdisciplinary support plan meetings.
- Represent nursing on the resident’s support team, provide information on nursing needs, consult and coordinate with support teams and other health care disciplines to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate resident’s care.
- Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.
- Assess, monitor and document resident’s symptoms, conditions, and care, including diet and physical activity. Identify and report resident’s responses to medications or changes in health status.
- Monitor resident’s medication, ensuring medications are ordered and available for administration.
- Meet documentation standards regarding transcribing physician’s orders, nursing progress notes, health charts and support plans.
- Acts as a liaison to community providers to ensure continuity of care, follow up with community providers, when necessary, advocate for resident’s needs.
- Participate in discharge planning by securing community appointments to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports electronically using Excel and or Word.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
