Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Strong knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and NYS Department of Health regulations
  • Must have long term care/nursing home experience
  • Infection Control Certification strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities :

This role is responsible for monitoring infections, ensuring regulatory compliance, educating staff, conducting surveillance, and implementing evidence-based practices to protect residents, visitors, and staff

Oversee the Infection Prevention & Control Program in accordance with CDC, CMS, and NYS DOH guidelines

Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, reporting, and trend analysis

Investigate and manage outbreaks while implementing containment measures

Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices, PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation precautions

Perform infection control rounds and audits throughout the facility

Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives

Ensure compliance during state surveys and regulatory inspections

Collaborate with medical providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and required infection control reports
