Responsibilities & Requirements

The Registered Nurse is responsible for:

  • Prepares patients and examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs.
  • Assist physician in special procedures, including minor surgery as required.
  • Receive and handle phones calls as directed by physician.
  • Accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
  • Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in State of Ohio.
  • ADN (or equivalent experience) required but BSN preferred.
  • Must be ACLS and CPR certified.
  • Excellent communication and teaming skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous nursing experience preferred.
  • Epic training/knowledge experience preferred.

You will collaborate with the patient, caregivers, clinical manager, case managers, and physician(s) to complete the patient care planning at the onset of care. You will provide skilled interventions and instructions to the patient and caregivers to provide optimum symptom control and patient comfort. You will function as a liaison between disciplines during the admission process. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care 1. Completes an initial, comprehensive assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es). 2. Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of the nursing process. 3. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B.
