Make a difference each day supporting an incoming Kindergarten student as a dedicated one-on-one Registered Nurse. Work on a contract basis within an elementary environment, providing expert care for a child in a private placement severe developmental disability classroom. This full-time role is Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 2:00pm, totaling 30 hours per weeka schedule that provides rewarding work-life balance.
In this engaging position, you'll attend to a single students unique and complex health needs throughout the school day, helping them thrive academically and socially alongside their peers.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active RN license, with eligibility to practice in the state.
- Experience in school nursing or similar pediatric settings encouraged.
- Familiarity or experience with:
- G-tube dependent care
- Chronic lung disease management
- Mild heart conditions support
- Scoliosis care considerations
- Reverse circadian cycle or sleep disorder accommodations
- Bainbridge-Ropers syndrome (a plus)
- Compassionate, patient-centered mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with students, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily nursing care to assigned kindergarten student throughout school hours.
- Attend to medical procedures (including G-tube care), monitoring, and emergency interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with special education staff and other professionals for a supportive learning environment.
- Document health updates and interventions in compliance with privacy and school protocols.
- Adapt care plans as needed to meet the evolving physical and emotional needs of your student.
