Travel RN - Cath Lab/EP

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a large Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring interventional scrub experience and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience. Job details: - Work setting is a large, short-term acute care academic teaching hospital with Level I Trauma designation and 1,266 staffed beds - Position is in the Cath Lab unit, functioning as an RN Circulator in a high-volume, high-acuity diagnostic and interventional PCI environment - Patient population includes diagnoses such as AMI, chest pain, heart failure, NSTEMI, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, A-fib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome - Patient ratio is 1:1 - Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts on a rotating basis: 0700–1730 (standard), 0700–1730 (late), and 1000–2030 (close, as needed) - Every other weekend is required - Rotating on-call is required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, subject to change based on unit needs - Floating within the service line is required to meet facility needs - Block scheduling is not available - Charting is done in Epic; Epic experience is required - Specialized equipment includes Impella and IABP - Navy scrubs are required Requirements: - Active MO RN license or Compact RN license; must be valid and in hand at time of consideration (pending IL license may be acceptable — note at time of consideration) - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required - Interventional scrub experience required - Experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab environment required - Level I Trauma facility experience required - Epic EMR experience required - Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Additional information: - The RN Circulator will provide conscious sedation under attending physician direction, hand off sterile supplies, assess vitals, and document in Epic - Cross-training to run hemodynamics in the monitor tech role is likely - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation - Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break is required - Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler - Orientation completion modules are required prior to or at start - Parking passes are available at a monthly cost through the facility's Public Safety department; travelers are responsible for parking costs
