An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a preschool student. This part-time position focuses on ensuring the health and safety of a young learner with complex medical needs. The role involves meeting the student at home, accompanying them to and from school by bus, and staying with them during their school day from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday, during the 2026-2027 school year (August 18 May 28).

Youll play a vital role as a trusted caregiver and advocate, supporting the student through their daily routine and collaborating with school staff to ensure an optimal experience. This meaningful assignment is ideal for nurses seeking impactful part-time work in a school environment.

Qualifications:

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Demonstrated experience with G-tube, tracheostomy, and ventilator care
Prior critical care or pediatric nursing strongly preferred
School-based nursing experience is a plus
Current CPR certification
Must be able to commit to schedule and transportation logistics
Up-to-date immunizations and health records per school requirements
Submission of RN license/certifications and a current resume

Responsibilities:

Deliver hands-on, skilled nursing care for a preschool student throughout the school day
Monitor and manage G-tube feedings, trach, and ventilator functions according to medical protocols
Accompany the student by bus to and from school and remain with them on campus
Communicate effectively with family, educational staff, and healthcare providers
Document care and participate in health planning as needed
