Position Overview

Cedar Ridge Inn is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our skilled nursing team.

As a CNA, you will provide direct, hands-on care to residents while supporting their dignity, independence, safety, comfort, and overall well-being. You will assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, personal care, nutrition, and other individualized needs in accordance with established care plans.

Our CNAs are an essential part of the nursing team. Because CNAs spend significant time directly with residents, they play a critical role in recognizing changes in condition, communicating concerns to licensed nursing staff, and ensuring residents receive responsive, compassionate, and person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and personal care

  • Assist residents with meals, hydration, feeding, and nutritional needs in accordance with individualized care plans

  • Safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, repositioning, and mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment

  • Reposition residents as directed to promote comfort, mobility, and skin integrity

  • Accurately obtain and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure, as assigned

  • Observe residents for changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral condition and promptly report concerns to the supervising nurse

  • Respond promptly, respectfully, and professionally to resident call lights and requests for assistance

  • Provide appropriate toileting and incontinence care while protecting resident privacy and dignity

  • Follow individualized care plans and nursing instructions when providing resident care

  • Accurately document assigned resident care and services according to facility procedures

  • Maintain resident rooms and care areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition

  • Follow infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and applicable precautions

  • Communicate professionally with residents, families, nurses, coworkers, and members of the interdisciplinary care team

  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, injuries, changes in condition, or resident safety concerns to the appropriate licensed nurse

  • Protect resident rights, privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and personal preferences

  • Follow all Cedar Ridge Inn policies and applicable federal and New Mexico requirements governing resident care

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification/status meeting applicable New Mexico requirements

  • Certification must remain active and in good standing as required for employment

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or another healthcare setting preferred

  • Compassionate and respectful approach to caring for older adults and individuals with varying physical and cognitive needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Dependable attendance and commitment to assigned schedules

  • Ability to follow individualized care plans, nursing instructions, and established safety procedures

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a nursing and interdisciplinary care team
