What You’ll Do

Registered Nurses at Newport Healthcare provide on-site nursing and attendant care to adolescents and/or young adults in our treatment. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Completing client health screenings and providing direct care and nursing services as needed, including monitoring any chronic health conditions
  • Evaluating medical complaints and concerns from residents during on-site hours and relaying information to the appropriate NP/MD
  • Serving as a vital part of your patients’ multidisciplinary treatment teams
  • Administering medications and ordering medication refills
  • Complying with all policies and procedures, e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, medical protocols, infection control, and local, state, and federal regulations

Renders and/or assists with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders. Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately. Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness. Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes. Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list/conduct and document RN assessments as needed. Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary. Administer medication according to procedure if applicable. Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary. Conduct oversight of Charge Nurse and CNA performances. Contributes to and promotes positive resident and family relations.
