Position: House Supervisor- Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Tulsa, OK

Schedule: Full Time Days, 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities

  • Effectively managing resources during your assigned shift.
  • Creating a healthy work atmosphere that promotes both team and individual growth.
  • Constantly monitoring the workplace to ensure that all company policies and procedures are being maintained.
  • Serving as a clinical resource to the staff and patients/families.
  • Working cooperatively as an ancillary interdisciplinary team member to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs, while also improving operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • BLS and ACLS required at hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of critical care/progressive clinical care experience is preferred.
  • Prior clinical management experience is preferred.
  • BSN is preferred.

Employees at this level have 24-hour accountability for the operation of the nursing unit(s). This includes positions in a facility or geographical area that function in an administrative or consultant role with responsibilities in a specialized program area or specialized field. Employees at this level have administrative freedom to plan, develop, and organize all phases of work necessary for its completion within broad program guidelines. Education and Experience Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and four years of professional nursing experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and three years of professional nursing experience, two year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a master’s degree and two years of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level consist of knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques; of expense control, and purchasing procedures; of the philosophy and objectives of the nursing department; and of the principles and practices of effective supervision. Ability is required to direct, motivate and evaluate staff; to plan and implement programs; to develop controls to monitor effectiveness of programs; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and to plan and implement an effective health care program. Candidates must possess sufficient proficiency in the English language to perform the essential functions of the position. MDS Coordinator

Maintain and periodically update written facility policies and procedures that govern the development, use and implementation of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI)/Minimum Data Set (MDS) and care plan. Develop, implement and maintain an ongoing quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program for the resident assessment/care plans. Ensure that a current copy of the RAI Manual is available to persons completing portions of the MDS. Monitor the MDS website and portal for up-to-date changes in the RAI manual monthly; distribute changes in the RAI manual to the IDT as needed. Review quality measures reports monthly and make recommendations to the QAPI Committee. Complete electronic submission of required documentation to the state database and other entities in accordance with facility policies. Conduct and coordinate the completion and submission of MDS within the required timeframe. Submit and monitor the nursing home final validation report to verify assessment submission. Transmit MDS to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) information system for each resident contained in the MDS in a format that conforms to current formatting standards within the prescribed time frames.
