Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, the Nurse Manager provides 24-hour clinical, operational, financial, and administrative leadership for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology (Cath/EP) Laboratory. Guided by the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Manager Competencies, the Nurse Manager is accountable for clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, operational performance, workforce engagement, and financial stewardship while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

 

Essential Responsibilities

The Science

  • Provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
    Ensures compliance with federal, state, accreditation, organizational, and professional standards.
  • Participates in the development, review, implementation, and evaluation of unit policies, procedures, competencies, and clinical standards.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and performance improvement methodologies to improve clinical and operational outcomes.

  • Manages unit budgets, staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization.
    Oversees supply management, equipment planning, capital requests, vendor relationships, and contract management.
  • Monitors operational, financial, quality, patient safety, and patient experience metrics to improve unit performance.
  • Promotes efficient patient flow, effective resource allocation, and fiscal stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required or in progress.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in perioperative services, ambulatory surgery, post anesthesia care, cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology, or critical care.
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Specialty certification relevant to the role required (e.g., CNOR, CAPA, CPAN, CCRN, CV-BC, or NE-BC).
  • Proficiency with Epic, Microsoft Office, and healthcare information systems (e.g., Strata, Lawson, UKG).
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position and work flexible hours based on operational needs.


Salary Range

USD $133,870.00 - USD $160,165.00 /Yr.



This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
