Job Summary
 Supervises and coordinates patient care activities on assigned shift. Directs licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel; participates in staff development and evaluation of staff on assigned shift. Assists in direct patient care. Represents management and administration in their absence. Monitors various aspects of program safety and oversees crisis response when needed. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Associate degree in nursing required. BSN preferred. 

Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Registered nursing in the State of Missouri. ANCC Certification for Psychiatric Nursing preferred. 

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred Experience/Skills: Previous charge nurse or leadership experience; pediatric behavioral health experience


Key Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and directs licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel assuring adequate staff-patient ratios 

• Coordinates services with providers, patients, families, ancillary departments, medical staff and other providers 

• Maintains responsibility, authority and accountability for program activities while on shift 

• Supports program philosophies and decisions 

• Keeps management informed of activities and events while on shift 

• Provides input on employee performance appraisals, orientation and education 

• Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation and communication of pertinent information to appropriate persons while maintaining patient confidentiality 

• Provides all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces risk 

• Develops and maintains professional and clinical skills. 

• Participates in program meetings and committees as required 

• Performs additional duties as assigned by management 

Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and staff qualifications.

 

Physical & Work Environment
This role involves a mix of standing, walking, and occasional lifting, along with regular use of office equipment. You’ll work in a professional office setting with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
