School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Anoka, Minnesota

$70 / hour

Bring your nursing expertise to a meaningful role supporting a 7th-grade student with complex medical needs in a dynamic, school-based environment. This contract position offers the chance to provide one-on-one care, build professional relationships with educators and families, and make a daily difference in a student's educational experience. The assignment spans the 26/27 school year, following the school calendar, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota LPN license (must provide proof upon application)
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Direct experience working with pediatric patients or students
  • Demonstrated experience in tracheostomy care and suctioning
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Comfort and adaptability in supporting students with significant medical and developmental needs
  • Willingness and ability to accompany the student on school transportation to and from home as needed

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver attentive, individualized nursing care throughout the school day to one student
  • Monitor and provide tracheostomy care, including suctioning according to established healthcare plans
  • Maintain daily, accurate documentation of all care, observations, and interventions
  • Follow and implement the students specific healthcare plan in partnership with school health services
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the student's family to ensure continuity of care
  • Ride the school bus with the student per transportation requirements to provide necessary medical support
