American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring cardiac, thoracic, and vascular scrub/circulate experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital. Job details: - Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care, Level I trauma teaching hospital - Primary case types include cardiac and thoracic procedures - Additional procedures include vascular (open and endovascular), transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas), and Whipple procedures - Night shift schedule: 4x10 hours, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM - No on-call requirement for night shift - Rotating shift start times as needed - Call coverage required per unit call policy, approximately 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule - Holiday coverage required as needed and discussed in advance - Floating required within service line to meet facility needs - Epic charting system used, experience preferred - Navy scrub color required Requirements: - Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted at time of consideration) - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year may be considered if gained at a Level I trauma facility - BSN preferred - BLS and ACLS certifications required - Scrub and circulate experience for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery required - Prior experience in a teaching hospital required - Prior experience in a Level I trauma facility required - Transplant surgery scrub experience required - Skills required include vascular procedures such as AAA repair, carotid angioplasty, carotid artery stenting, and femoral popliteal bypass graft - Skills required include cardiovascular procedures such as CABG and mitral valve replacement - First-time travelers accepted only if more than 2 years of experience at a Level I trauma facility Additional information: - Provide scrub and circulate support for complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant surgical cases - Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position - Local candidates within the 75-mile radius are not accepted - RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment - Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions - Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler - Travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service - Contract length is firm at 13 weeks
