Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized under the Medical Practice Act, Chapter 157. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Education and Training: Master’s degree with Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited program. Current Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state where hospital resides. Current ACLS and Healthcare Provider/BLS certifications required. Current national certification with an accredited testing organization.
