Overview About the Position: This position is located Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) is the United States Army's premier medical institution. Located on Fort Sam Houston, BAMC is a 425-bed academic medical center, and is the Department of Defense's largest facility and only Level 1 trauma center. Comply with current standards of anesthesia practice and care. Conduct and participate in educational programs that improve anesthesia nursing practice. Provide anesthesia care that is within the scope of practice as determined by demonstrated competency, licensure and clinical privileges delineated by the MTF. Administer anesthetic by inhalation, endotracheal intubation, regional, intravenous, or topical. Observe the patient during the surgery, to accomplish and maintain the proper level of anesthesia depth and to prevent over-dosage. Provide a full range of emergency services, including life-saving procedures, to resuscitate and stabilize patients, within the scope of practice and approved guidelines. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Graduates of foreign nursing schools must have completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program. A copy of the CGFNS Certificate is required.
