Get to Know Your Team:

Lovelace Westside Hospital provides care to Albuquerque’s Westside and Rio Rancho, including a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical capabilities such as Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), bariatric and orthopedic service lines.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, to include patient care and staff management assigned to the RN in his/her charge.
May serve in the role of Charge Nurse and is accountable for professional practice.
Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Associate’s degree or Diploma of Nursing
Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
HIRING DEPARTMENT MAY ALSO REQUIRE ACLS and or PAL

Preferred Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Two (2) years of experience in the specialty
Two (2) years of general nursing experience.

Lovelace Westside Hospital For over 40 years, Lovelace Westside Hospital, a 50-bed community hospital, has provided quality care to Albuquerque's Westside and Rio Rancho communities. It is home to a 24-hour emergency department, where patients can see a provider in about 30 minutes or less. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), bariatric, and orthopedic specialties. This role will provide leadership and operational oversight for approximately 50 FTEs across five perioperative departments, including six operating rooms and two procedure rooms POSITION SUMMARY: The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. The nurse director is a change agent, and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians. Responsible for overall administrative, financial and clinical activities of assigned departments.
