Assistant Director of Nursing (RN)

Lead with purpose. Strengthen clinical care. Grow with Elderwood.

At Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center, every member of our team plays an important role in creating a safe, supportive environment for the residents we serve. As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – RN), you'll help lead our nursing team, strengthen clinical practice, develop employees, and help ensure residents receive consistent, compassionate care.

Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center is an 85-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community providing comprehensive Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. Our interdisciplinary team is committed to providing personalized care that promotes resident dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life.

As ADON, you'll work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to advance clinical priorities, support nursing employees, maintain survey readiness, and uphold regulatory standards. You'll have meaningful responsibility within the facility while also having access to an experienced network of clinical leaders and resources across the Elderwood organization.

Your work will have a direct impact on both residents and the team members who care for them every day. Whether you're coaching a nurse, reinforcing clinical best practices, helping navigate a complex resident-care concern, supporting a quality initiative, or partnering with nursing leadership on department priorities, you'll play an important role in strengthening clinical care and the resident experience.

If you're an experienced RN who is organized, collaborative, accountable, and ready to take the next step in nursing leadership, this is an opportunity to join a team where your clinical expertise and leadership can make a meaningful difference.

Why Join Our Team?

At Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center, our interdisciplinary team is committed to providing personalized care while creating an environment where employees can grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful difference.

As an ADON, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact both through day-to-day clinical leadership and by helping develop the people and practices that support exceptional resident care.

What We Offer:

  • Visible Clinical Impact: Help shape nursing practice, employee development, quality initiatives, and the resident experience.
  • Facility Leadership Partnership: Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to address priorities and move clinical initiatives forward.
  • Clinical Support Beyond the Facility: Benefit from the broader clinical leadership and resources of Elderwood Administrative Services.
  • Leadership Development: Strengthen the skills and experience needed to advance into future Director of Nursing and senior clinical leadership opportunities.
  • Supportive, Interdisciplinary Team Environment: Collaborate with professionals across nursing, rehabilitation, social services, dietary, activities, and other departments working toward a shared goal of exceptional resident care.
  • Meaningful Work: See the direct connection between strong nursing leadership, employee success, and better outcomes for residents.

Lead With Support Behind You

At Elderwood, facility nursing leaders are accountable for clinical performance—but they are not expected to lead in isolation.

Our facility clinical teams receive support from Elderwood Administrative Services, including organization-wide clinical leadership from the Chief Nursing Officer and an assigned Regional Nurse Consultant who serves as a consistent resource to facility leaders.

The Regional Nurse Consultant partners with the Director of Nursing, ADON, Administrator, and clinical team to provide guidance, share best practices, help navigate complex challenges, and support priorities related to quality, regulatory readiness, clinical operations, and nursing leadership development.

This structure gives you the opportunity to lead locally at Mattapan while benefiting from the experience, perspective, and resources of a larger clinical organization.
