POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) by planning, organizing, developing, and overseeing the Nursing Service Department's daily functions. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards to maintain high-quality care, as directed by the Executive Director, Medical Director, or Director of Health Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the DON to help select, retain, develop, and lead the clinical team.
  • Assists in coordinating nursing and ancillary services as needed with other department leaders to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
  • Assists in implementing our clinical staffing model and performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports &audits, evaluations, charting, etc. as necessary.
  • Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Participates and prepares for facility surveys (inspections) and accreditation programs conducted by authorized regulatory agencies and/or the company.

Qualifications  

  • Associate degree or advanced degree in Nursing
  • 0-1 Years of relevant experience preferred
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid state RN license and current, valid CPR certification required.

Pennock Family Birth Center As a trusted provider of maternity services, we play a vital role in ensuring expectant families have access to safe, high-quality care close to home. Our Family Birth Center features: 7 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms 2 triage rooms A dedicated Cesarean-section operating room located within the unit Guided by a midwifery model of care, our team supports approximately 300 births annually. The Nurse Manager will lead a highly engaged team of 15 to 25 registered nurses and play a key role in advancing clinical excellence, patient experience, quality outcomes, and team development. While Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with demonstrated leadership experience, including Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, or similar progressive leadership roles. Scope of work Assumes 24-hour accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services unit of the hospital. Develop policies, procedures, and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are always provided to all customers. Assures presence of a supportive and healthy work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity. Key responsibilities include unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, human resource development, performance improvement, supports a culture of safety and maintenance of interprofessional collaborative relationships. Nurse Managers in inpatient and outpatient units are required to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire into the role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing Required.
