Responsibilities

The registered nurse (RN) in the Mayo Clinic Department of Nursing Enterprise Staffing Pool will provide staffing support across Mayo Clinic sites (Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) as determined by staffing and patient care needs.

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. Qualifications

Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). One year of RN experience required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020, and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.

1 year of inpatient RN experience required.
RN Travel experience strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do Deliver person-centered nursing care in alignment with Mayo Clinic standards. Excellence in assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the Registered Nurse. Monitor and manage residents’ health needs across multiple care settings. You will be responsible for the delivery of direct resident care and supervising nursing care provided by the professional and ancillary nursing team across care settings including Individualized Health Services, Catered Living, and Enhanced Living. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure resident safety and well-being. As an RN at Charter House, you will assess and plan in collaboration with the resident, family and the interdisciplinary health care team, to meet the care, educational, and discharge needs. Accurately document skilled interventions to reflect clinical judgement and resident needs. *This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must be a graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited associate's degree or diploma program. *If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required. *If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required. License/Certification Active Registered Nurse License issued by the Minnesota Board of Nursing Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers certified by one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network Additional Qualifications One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health or two years of acute care nursing is preferred. Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and prioritize resident needs. Ability to work independently. Strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care. Excellent communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of residents and employees. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
