School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Derry, New Hampshire

Step into a specialized contract role supporting students in a welcoming educational environment near Derry, NH. This unique opportunity is tailored for an LPN who excels in one-on-one care and has a passion for making a daily difference in the life of a student with special needs.

As the primary nurse during student transport, youll ensure medical needs are met each morning and afternoon. Your day starts with pick-up at 7:25 AM, riding the school bus alongside a non-verbal student who may use an AAC device and has mobility challenges. After morning drop-off, return trips begin around 1:00 PM, guaranteeing a routine of approximately 3-4 hours each day, Monday through Thursday during ESY (July 6 August 9), and a similar schedule for the full upcoming school year.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted LPN license for New Hampshire
  • Previous experience in school settings, student transport, or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Comfort working closely with students who have mobility and communication needs
  • Compassionate, patient approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication for working with team members and families
  • Ability to meet school onboarding requirements, including fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany a student on bus rides to and from school, ensuring medical safety
  • Monitor and assist with mobility and communication devices as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff and other care professionals
  • Document daily activities and medical interventions clearly
  • Uphold confidentiality and respect student privacy at all times
