Your role with us

This clinical nurse position features a unique opportunity in Salem Health's Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU), a Intensive Care specialty cardiac unit where you’ll care for patients with heart failure, post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions, as well as those with acute coronary syndrome. You’ll also be involved in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology services.

What you'll do

  • Perform accurate, ongoing, and relevant assessments for each assigned patient.
  • Deliver patient care competently in alignment with individualized care plans.
  • Plan and coordinate patient transfers or discharges to the appropriate level of care.
  • Collaborate proactively with the healthcare team and patient families.
  • Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient responses clearly and accurately.
  • Anticipate patient needs and communicate effectively with team members.

Required qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, or non-nursing bachelor's degree with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN). Candidates with an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or graduate of a diploma RN program are also encouraged to apply; ADN applicants with less than five years of acute care experience will be required to sign an agreement committing to complete their BSN or MSN degree within three years of hire
  • Unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • One year of nursing experience.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The registered professional nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. Assesses and manages patients’ response to home dialysis training and treatment therapy by following prescribed predetermined protocols and communicates patient related issues to the physician as needed.
